Saijiki, or records of annual events, are compilations of familiar yearly activities in Japan. Here we outline a few of the major events within saijiki, such as Toka-Ebisu and Setsubun, which huge numbers of people attend. We also delve into a number of unique festivals that have been held since long ago, as well as important sacred rituals.
